MEET ALICIA ROSHONG
The oldest of two children, Roshong has lived in Ohio her entire life with Sandusky and Huron being her home for the past 31 years. She earned her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and her Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Toledo School of Law.
After graduating law school, Roshong began her law practice as an associate attorney at Murray & Murray. Shortly thereafter, she was appointed, then elected for three terms, as Chief Prosecuting Attorney and Law Director of the City of Fostoria, serving Fostoria from 1993 through 2008. During that time, she oversaw three assistant prosecutors; assisted in creating and negotiating all city contracts; legal advisor to all City employees, council members, and elected officials; created city legislation and presented it to council; helped facilitate the legal process to become a Charter City, including guiding the Charter Commission in the drafting of the City Charter document itself.
In 1997, she was a founder of Kentris, Roshong & Coleman Law Firm and practiced there until 2008, which showcased a premier family-owned litigation firm with three office locations in Fostoria, Findlay and Huron. She currently operates a sole proprietor law practice specializing in plaintiffs’ litigation, class action litigation, and representing those who are victims of varying discriminatory conduct. Roshong is a fearless advocate for the protection of human rights.
In addition to her law practice, Roshong also owns a title company, a real estate development company with her husband, and a Dairy Queen with her brother. Roshong is married to Russell Roshong. They have four children, all of whom were born and raised in Huron and graduated from Huron High School. Roshong believes in the public school system and knows it is imperative to fix the underlying problems that affect the public school system. Roshong also believes in fighting for quality, affordable healthcare coverage for all Ohioans as well as striving for equality on all fronts.
The 89th District: includes all of Erie County, most of Ottawa County and part of Huron County – seat will be up for election November 2024.
“As an owner of several businesses and her vast experience in the legal field, Alicia will bring a commonsense approach to the State House,” said Amy Grubbe, chair of the Erie County Democratic Party. “Alicia’s strong family values and work ethic have developed her deep desire to serve her community and running for State Representative is another way she feels she can make a positive difference in this polarized and unsettling climate.”
